The money raised from the 5K Run for Autism helps sponsor specially designed summer camps for children with autism, provides scholarships for children in the Richmond area to attend camps, workshops and funds educational seminars for families and professionals dealing with ASD, and, provides education and support to the autism community. Fundraising Ideas: Below we have listed a few ideas that will make fundraising for the 6th annual 5K Run / Walk for Autism a rewarding experience for you and your team!
1. Letter/Email Writing Campaign Ø This is one of the most effective ways to fundraise money! Ø Find someone you see or talk to every day and send them a letter or an email stating the why you want to raise money and ask for their support, or even ask them face-to face! 2. Raise $100 in only 10 days! Ø For 10 days pick 10 people you want to ask for $10 dollars. Ø For example, on day one you put in $10 dollars, on day two ask a friend, on day three ask a co-worker and so forth! After the 10th day you will have $100 and feel free to keep asking to increase your donations! 3. Create a team Ø Get a team together, whether it is your racing team or just a team for fundraising and challenge your teammates by setting a fundraising goal! Ø This is a great way to get everyone involved and to raise money! 4. Talk about it! Ø You will be surprised by just telling your friend, family, community, or church members about the race! Ø Let them know that you are fundraising, provide some facts, and let them know it is for a great organization!
